The 2025 Ford Super Duty® offers four internal combustion engines engineered to match load conditions and duty cycles across industry segments.

The standard 6.8L 2-Valve DEVCT NA PFI V8 gasoline engine is designed with an emphasis on low-end torque output, rated at 405 horsepower and 445 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is configured to support baseline towing and hauling metrics, functioning with the TorqShift®-G 10-speed automatic transmission.

The second gasoline option, the 7.3L OHV PFI V8, delivers 430 horsepower and 485 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine incorporates variable-cam timing and uses a cast-iron block paired with a forged-steel crankshaft.

Diesel options begin with the 6.7L Power Stroke® V8 Turbo Diesel, generating 475 horsepower and 1,050 lb.-ft. of torque. The high-pressure fuel injection system, rated at 36,000 psi, works in tandem with an electronically actuated variable-geometry turbocharger.

The High Output variant of the 6.7L Power Stroke® diesel engine is currently the top performer, rated at 500 horsepower and 1,200 lb.-ft. of torque. Engine mapping, turbo calibration, and fueling systems are optimized for maximum gross combination weight ratings and prolonged hill-grade towing scenarios.

All engine variants are paired with a 10-speed TorqShift® automatic transmission. The transmission features three overdrive gears, along with selectable drive modes including Normal, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Eco, Deep Sand/Snow, and Rock Crawl (when equipped with the TREMOR® Off-Road Package).

The 2025 Ford Super Duty® supports multiple towing configurations, including conventional, fifth-wheel, and gooseneck setups. The vehicle is rated for a maximum available towing capacity of 40,000 lbs. under optimal conditions using the high-output diesel configuration and a gooseneck hitch. Payload capacities reach a maximum of 8,000 lbs., subject to vehicle configuration, rear axle ratio, wheelbase, and equipment level.

Frame reinforcements, integrated trailer brake controllers, and advanced trailer sway control systems are embedded into the vehicle’s towing structure.

The TREMOR® Off-Road Package is an equipment configuration designed to support vehicle use in undeveloped environments, including construction zones, utility access roads, and remote agricultural terrain.

Key inclusions are 35-inch all-terrain tires, an off-road tuned suspension system with 1.7-inch twin-tube dampers, front-end skid plates, and a locking rear differential. An upgraded axle vent system supports fording capability. Rock Crawl and Trail Control™ modes become available when this package is selected, allowing the powertrain to maintain throttle consistency over uneven grades and loose surfaces.

Interior Configuration Focused on Utility and Operator Efficiency

The vehicle includes multiple functional improvements inside the cab, geared toward users who utilize the vehicle as a mobile workspace. One notable integration is the Interior Work Surface, which repositions the gear shifter into a collapsible format, allowing for a fold-out flat surface.

Trim-dependent instrument clusters include either an 8-inch or 12-inch SYNC® 4 touchscreen display. The SYNC® 4 system supports cloud-based updates, enhanced voice command functionality, and smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. USB ports, 12V outlets, and wireless charging (on select trims) increase the cabin’s digital connectivity for fleet and contractor use cases.

The system also supports 5G Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing multiple devices to operate concurrently via onboard wireless service.

Structural Features and Bed Access Systems

From a utility standpoint, the 2025 Ford Super Duty® introduces multiple enhancements to support cargo management and physical access to the bed area. The frame is constructed with high-strength steel, and all body panels are formed from military-grade aluminum alloy to reduce vehicle weight without compromising structural integrity.

The vehicle is equipped with integrated box side steps and rear corner steps. These are located directly behind the cab and on the corners of the rear bumper, allowing operators to reach into the bed without climbing over the tailgate. An optional Power Tailgate includes automatic lift/lower functions and a retractable step system.

LED headlamps are standard across most trims and provide broader illumination coverage, particularly in low-visibility jobsite conditions. Grille variations across the lineup are engineered for airflow regulation based on engine and cooling package selection.

Operational Safety and Advanced Driver Assistance

The Ford Co-Pilot360® suite is integrated with standard and optional safety technologies designed for multi-environment operation. Standard configurations include Pre-Collision Assist® with Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Trailer Sway Control.

Optional enhancements include the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Trailer Coverage, Cross-Traffic Alert, and the 360-Degree Camera system. The latter provides an overhead view of the vehicle perimeter, assisting with maneuverability in confined urban or jobsite spaces. A Head-Up Display projects essential driving data such as vehicle speed, navigation directions, and drive mode selection onto the windshield, reducing the need for visual redirection.

Pro Trailer Hitch Assist™ adds camera-guided alignment to trailer connections, reducing the margin of error during single-operator hitching procedures.
